The Origin of GI Joe Action Figures

GI Joe’s story was about an animated American soldier which dates its foundation in 1942 and created a huge industry in recent decades. GI Joe action figures served to inspire young Americans to serve and defend the nation, not to mention its official GI Joe Collector’s Club annual meeting held for ten years.

The 10th Annual Convention was in New Orleans in the year 2006, with Sgt. Slaughter as special guest in attendance. The success of GI Joe story is both a commercial success and evidence of American heroism. Did you know that most of the recent GI action figures are based on real-life military and civilian Heroes – such as Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Bob Hope, Ernie Pyle, George Washington and Theodore Roosevelt?

GI Joe made its debut as an animated American soldier in June 17, 1942, which was created by David Breger in the military’s YANK magazine. Every holiday I see this. Parents get this idea in thier heads that waking up to a fully set up: Fish tank, bird cage, hamster cage, Guinea Pig cage, hermit crab cage, puppy, or kitten is a great idea. They go to the store and when they ask how to take care of it, they get angry becuase it cost too much or it takes to much time or they can’t hide it well….
anyone else notice that when it comes to pets, parents view it as a toy during the holiday?
I mean, geesh! Buy the cage and the books, wrap every little thing seperate so they have lots to unwrap. let your kid set it up on christmas, and then take the little tyke to the store to pick out the pet well after everything is known on how to care for it.
Dead pets under the tree do not a merry christmas make
