What Is A Good Christmas Toy For A 12month Old And A 5 Month Old?

my son will be 5 months on christmas and my nephew will be… 13 months… anyone have any good suggestions??? (as long as each toys under $45 im okay 
)

I suggest for the 5 month old some ‘Soft Blocks’. A set of 6 fabric cubes with colorful pictures of familiar objects. These infant toys are great for eye/hand coordination and cost around $20.00
And what about a Fisher Price Nursery Rhymes CD Player for the 12 month old – it doesn’t actually have CDs but it has a spinning control and cost around $15.00. Alternatively the LittleTouch LeapPad books for around the same price. The Animal World one has normal animals like a dog and a lion, but also unexpected animals like a dingo. It shows the animals according to their habitat and you can hear the animals’ names and their actual sounds.
They like to see things fall (like blocks explained above), and they love lights (colorful) get them a singing plsuhie or something like that.
for the 5 month old i would suggest a small stuffed animal,a rattle and a chewing toy (newborns love those) trust me I have a 19 month old brother and my mom is about to have her first girl! in case this sounded strange i am only 10 years old and i am in 5th grade,anyways for the 13 month old i would prefer some movies such as Sesame Street BobThe Builder etc. or maybe a set of Mega Bloks would be fine (the very large ones)

Wooden blocks are a great “toy” for any child, as long as the pieces are large enough to be too big for their mouths (and throat). Stacking wooden blocks and watching them fall can be entertaining for a child, and the blocks are made of a natural material.
You can buy balls made out of wool felt that are fun to throw around the house without causing damage. They are also safe to put into your mouth if you are 5 months old and teething.
Books are a great gift for any child – and reading the book to them is an even better gift. Try and find books that have actual photographs of people, places and things. So many children’s books are full of illustrations or cartoons – and don’t represent the “real world”. Using a book with photographs is a great way to teach your children language skills.
I think toys made of natural materials last the longest and bring about the best memories for a child. I do not remember the plastic doll that I had as a child, but I do remember my favorite book and my wooden blocks.
